Broadcasting as KPCC 89.3, Southern California Public Radio (SCPR) is one of the nation’s most dynamic public radio stations. SCPR strengthens the civic and cultural bonds that unite Southern California’s diverse communities by providing the highest quality news and information service through radio and other interactive media.
After a period of outsourcing annual report production to Minneapolis-based parent organization American Public Media (APM), SCPR relocated the project back to Southern California. The challenge was reinforcing APM’s branding while also defining SCPR’s identity, in print, as a significant presence in the regional news and culture landscape.
We built on APM’s foundation, customizing design to highlight SCPR’s key differentiating factors. With a focus on robust local content and compelling graphic treatment, we rooted SCPR in a sense of place, showcasing the station’s commitment to, and engagement with, Los Angeles and Southern California.
