The UC Irvine Bren School’s Department of Statistics is a leader in the science concerned with developing and studying methods for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting empirical data.
Research in statistics finds applicability in virtually all scientific fields. Yet, communicating that applicability is a challenge: finding the right approach to discussing statistics’ impact in a universal way that resonates for diverse audiences.
We looked beyond the numbers to develop a print publication that humanized statistics, making the department (and the field) feel warm, engaging and accessible. By profiling the faces behind the work, we offered critical context that helped explain statistics’ importance and shed light on its relevance to each of our daily lives.
